    Job Summary/Description:                       
    WTOC is looking for a dynamic news professional to lead our team with passion, dedication and high expectations for excellence in journalism. The News Director will develop and execute a research-based strategic plan to deliver relevant content on broadcast, digital and social platforms.
    Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
    - Principled editorial decision-making and leadership that sets the tone for the newsroom
    - Daily execution of high quality news programming across all platforms
    - Audience development and growth through the daily delivery of trustworthy news and weather 
    - Effective communication and execution of news plans and goals across departments
    - Effective and urgent execution of Breaking News and Severe Weather coverage plans
    - Promoting best practices in local journalism, providing regular feedback to grow anchors, MMJs, producers and other staff within the newsroom
    - Representing news and contributing to the successful execution of the station's overall strategic plan

    Qualifications/Requirements:
    - At least 3 years of newsroom management and a BA in journalism preferred
    - Proven leadership ability with creativity and a passion for local journalism
    - Strong management, communication and people skills needed to supervise and interact daily with staff and the community
    - Ability to multi-task in stressful situations
