First Savannah Hispanic Heritage Parade lends rhythm, color, and flavor to the Metropolitan Savannah Region.
SAVANNAH, GEORGIA (May 31, 2017) - On Saturday, September 16th, 2017, the Metropolitan Savannah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (MSAVHCC) will host the Savannah Hispanic Heritage Parade and Sabor Latino Cultural Festival the first parade of its kind in the region.
The parade will take place along the tree-lined streets of Oglethorpe, Price and Liberty in downtown Savannah Georgia. We hope that it will empower the community, and in particular our youth, by promoting civic pride, celebrating the history of Hispanics, and increasing awareness of Latin America's diverse cultural heritage.
It will also provide an avenue for businesses and corporations wanting to do business with the growing Hispanic community of Metropolitan Savannah, to showcase their products and services and increase brand image recognition the more that 3,000 spectators and active participants.
The Parade dedication theme is “Ritmo, Color, y Sabor” in recognition of the thousands of Hispanics that are moving to, and are living in this thriving metropolis of the Southeast. Thousands that have settled in after their initial visit to Savannah and have made it their home away from their countries of birth. Newcomers that are lending the region with the taste of their food, colorful and intricate design of their traditional cultural attire, the exhilarating sounds of music and dances, while many are serving all branches of the military and the community in various jobs, or establishing their own business and providing jobs. Many reasons to celebrate!
The Parade will kick off is at 10:00 am and it is schedule to end at 12:30pm. The Sabor Latino Cultural Festival will be held immediately after the Parade at the MLK Arena in the Savannah Civic Center.
